How-do-you-do Anannya,

I take a similar problem with my TSST Corp Writemaster CD/DVD drive. My Win viii.1 PC seems to know the drive is there  -  it shows upwardly under Device Managing director equally working properly and the driver is up to appointment and enabled. Strangely, though, it is not shown anywhere under Devices and Printers in Control Panel and trying to add together information technology equally a new device produces no results.  It can too be establish in Windows Explorer.  When I insert a disc and click on CD/DVD Drive D: under Windows Explorer, however, the disc is ejected and I become the message "Insert a disc.  Please insert a disc into drive D:"

I've tried the Regedit solution but no UpperFilters or LowerFilters can be found nether HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Command\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318.

The CD/DVD drive has always worked until fairly recently just I have no idea which upshot, software update etc if any might accept contributed to its malfunction.  Short of taking a trip to my computer tech and having the drive replaced I'm at a loss as to what to next to bring the bulldoze back to life.  Tin you suggest anything?

Many thanks,

Grant

Aye same issue here. Asus G751Jy /due west Bluray option. Bulldoze is recognized by Windows but any disk put in says to "insert disk" when I effort to read it.

Dual booted to RHEL (Linux) and it reads fine and so a Win driver issue for sure. No hardware problems.

Tried the above. I had upper filter and lower filter in the registry and I deleted them. Didn't do anything other than now another program I have monitoring disks tells me I no longer have a DVD drive.

Microsoft at information technology's best.
